Anime Review: I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying

When I first saw the name of the show it piqued my interest. Decided to read the synopsis and thought it was probably something I would like, One episode had only come out at the time so decided to give it ago. Next minute it's already over... What? I realised that the episodes were only about 3 minutes long. Series that are that short I tend to try to wait till it has fully been released before starting because you always end up wanting more and having to wait each week for such a short episode can get annoying. I decided to put the show on the back burner until it had finished.

Once the show had finished airing I sat down and watched it in one sitting, which obviously didn't take long at 3 minutes each for 12 episodes. It is a show that is easily watched in one sitting because of that. I enjoyed the show and wished there was a bit more, which luckily came true today in the announcement of a second season.

The show revolves around Kaoru, a hard working office lady, and her otaku husband Hajime after they get married. The title is pretty self explanatory, Kaoru cannot understand the the things that her husband says due to the fact that they mostly reference animes and so forth.

(This reference made me smile due to being one of my favourite shows)

There were things like this that made me smile and laugh. Kaoru had invited some friends over to meet her husband and this is what he wore.

(Hajime's brother)

All in all, if you are after a light bit of entertainment and something that is easy to watch and very short then I thoroughly recommend "I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying". I'd give it a 7.5/10. I look forward to the second season when it comes out.

Anime Review: Denki-Gai

I don't often get to keep up with new anime due to my list being rather long... I did however make an exception to a couple this season, one of those being Denki-Gai. Let's just say that I instantly fell in love with this show. I absolutely loved the humour in it and the various characters in the show. Fu-Girl was my favourite all the way through the series.

The series revolves around a group of coworkers who work for Umanohone bookstore. They sell manga, light novels and doujinshi. It has a lot of adult humour in it, so it is directed at an older audience. The first half of the series focuses on laughs, whereas the second half brings in a romance/comedy plot line. I will admit that I did enjoy the first half a lot better than the second half, but it was still enjoyable none the less. All of the female characters are very short compared to their male counterparts. Most animes have the characters at similar heights but here they are all much shorter, most noticeable when Fu-Girl and Sommelier stand next to each other.

(Sommelier and Fu-Girl)

One of the things I love is animes changing the name of brand name items, for obvious reasons.

(Oh Fu-Girl, never change)

(Nice try at censoring, and yes, you did read that right)

(One of the many reasons why Fu-Girl is my favourite)

 (Yes, but still adorable)

 (Zombies with glow sticks)

(Take my chocolate banana in your mouth <3)

(Pour that hot chocolate on me...)

 (Maybe...?)

(Who doesn't like a good boobs festival?)

(I don't think so...)

(They might get a little cold in there, maybe give them a jacket)

If you are looking for a show with a bit of humour, romance and slice of life, then I'd say give Denki-Gai a go. The series is only 12 episodes long so it is quite short and easy to get through. Each episode is split into 2-3 stories. I'd rate the show 8/10 due to having a laugh each episode.

Supanova Adelaide 2014

Hey guys,

I know many people have been waiting on Supanova pictures and I unfortunately didn't take too many. I spend a lot of my time at the Origin PC Australia booth helping out and showing people how to play Battlefield 4 and answer questions about the computers that were on sale. I will slowly post some photos and edit this post as I go through the photos so that you will have a few in the mean time. I hope everyone had a great time and I'll look forward to see you all again at Oz Comic Con 2015.

If you are, or know who are the people in the photos, please let me know so that I can edit the post and credit you and/or your cosplay page.
